certain that Matthias Francois, our oldest known ancestor, was born in
Weiskirchen,
Diocese of Trier, Prussia circa1735. A common mistake made by the public when addressing
our family is to use the French pronunciation, which would be something like
"Franz-wa". In fact, our surname is pronounced "Fran-koys".
